## What does this tool do?

The Merge Images tool combines multiple images into a single PNG by placing them side-by-side (horizontal) or stacked on top of each other (vertical). The images are automatically aligned and the canvas is sized to fit all of them.

## What layout options are available?

- **Vertical** — images are stacked top-to-bottom. All images are scaled to the same width, and the total height is the sum of all image heights.
- **Horizontal** — images are placed side-by-side left-to-right. All images are scaled to the same height, and the total width is the sum of all image widths.

## What does the output look like?

- A single PNG file containing all uploaded images
- Images are aligned to a common edge (left edge for vertical, top edge for horizontal)
- The output canvas is exactly sized to fit all images with no gaps or padding

## How do I use this tool?

1. Go to https://toolscanvas.com/tools/merge-images
2. Click the upload area or drag and drop 2 or more images.
3. The images appear as a list showing their order.
4. Reorder images by dragging them if needed.
5. Choose "Vertical" or "Horizontal" layout.
6. A preview of the merged result appears.
7. Click "Download" to save the merged PNG.

## Can I control the order of images?

Yes. After uploading, drag and drop images in the list to reorder them. The order in the list determines the order in the merged image (top-to-bottom for vertical, left-to-right for horizontal).
