Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Commitment

ToolsCanvas is built with privacy as a core principle. All tools run entirely in your browser — your files, data, and inputs are never uploaded to our servers. We collect minimal analytics data and do not sell or share your information with third parties.

Client-Side Processing

Every tool on ToolsCanvas processes data locally on your device using browser technologies (JavaScript, WebAssembly, Canvas API). This means:

  • Your files never leave your device
  • No data is uploaded to any server for processing
  • No file contents are logged, stored, or transmitted
  • Closing the browser tab destroys all processed data

Data Collection

We collect only the following minimal data:

  • Analytics data — page views, tool usage counts, browser type, and general geographic region (country-level). We use PostHog for privacy-friendly analytics. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected.
  • Cookie preferences — your consent choices for analytics cookies, stored locally in your browser.

Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the website to function (cookie consent preferences). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — used by PostHog to understand how visitors use ToolsCanvas. These are optional and can be disabled via the cookie consent banner. All analytics data stays in the EU.

Third-Party Services

We use the following external services:

  • PostHog — privacy-friendly analytics (EU-hosted)
  • Google Fonts — web font delivery (Space Grotesk, Syne)
  • UserWay — accessibility widget for on-site accessibility controls

These services may set their own cookies or collect technical data (IP address, browser type) as described in their respective privacy policies.

Data Retention

Since all tool processing happens in your browser, we do not store any user-generated content on our servers. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. No personal accounts or profiles exist — there is nothing to retain.

Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to:

  • Opt out of analytics tracking via the cookie consent banner
  • Access any data we hold about you (which is limited to anonymous analytics)
  • Request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device
  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

ToolsCanvas does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our tools are freely available without accounts or sign-ups, and we do not collect PII from any user. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
